At Tutor Time, our diverse team members bring a rich tapestry of experience, specialized knowledge, and unwavering enthusiasm for cultivating a love of learning. They are dedicated to fostering an environment of active and collaborative learning that encourages students to explore, question, and discover. Our dedicated team places a paramount focus on ensuring the well-being of every student by providing continuous opportunities for open teacher-student conversations about their emotional well-being. Our team all share the same fundamental belief: students with higher emotional intelligence are more engaged in school life, better able to pay attention in class, and more empathetic and understanding towards others, which produces more positive relationships among peers and family members.

Dr. Johnna Weller
Chief Academic Officer

Weller is responsible for leading all aspects of Learning Care Group’s educational mission – including refining curricula, instruction, pedagogy, learning, and the policies and practices that address academic achievement. She works closely with the company’s directors and teachers to maximize support for further enhancing the innovative educational resources and best practices that nurture whole child development, ensure school readiness, and deliver great experiences for students and teachers alike.

 

Weller’s background encompasses more than 25 years of experience as a classroom teacher, special education teacher, reading specialist, literacy coach, supervisor of curriculum and instruction, and Assistant Superintendent. Prior to joining Learning Care Group, she was Director of Early Childhood Programs for Goddard Systems. Her previous experience includes serving as Director of Professional Learning for Discovery Education. She has taught graduate courses and served as a consultant in several school districts, as well as participating on various state and national committees related to the Common Core State Standards.

 

Weller holds an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Immaculata University. She has a B.S. in Education and a M.Ed. in Reading from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. She earned a certification in Curriculum Supervision for K-12 from St. Joseph’s University and a certification in Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell University.

 

Our native teachers all hold the minimum requirements of a Bachelor’s Degree and a recognised teaching certificate. Our curriculum design team and teacher training team include alumni from QS World Ranking top 100 universities. Our teacher training team all have a minimum of 5 years of experience in early childhood education with a degree in the educational field.
